2024 JASON CRAWFORD MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
The Legacy of The Jason Crawford Memorial Tournament 2024
In a touching display of dedication and heart, the 2024 Little Guy Wrestling league concluded its season with the Jason Crawford Memorial Tournament. Among the 2200 competitors, Team Asylum proudly stood with five remarkable wrestlers - Joel, Rene, Kaysin, Christian, and Cash and one honorary wrestler Rocco.
Joel showcased his best performances and secured a well-deserved SECOND place finish, a testament to his relentless spirit and hard work. The growth he displayed in character, ability to take constructive criticism and applying what we have been working on during a short season makes us truly proud and we look forward to see his list of accomplishments continue to grow.
Kaysin, with only two months of practice and in his first year of wrestling, persevered to claim a commendable 3rd place finish, displaying an inspiring commitment to growth and improvement.
Cash left everything on the mat, fighting with every ounce of his being, and achieved a remarkable 3rd place finish, demonstrating unwavering determination and courage.
Rocco joined our team for practices the last couple of weeks of the season and although wearing different stripes for this event he displayed outstanding character, perseverance, and amazing attitude. Wrestling hard while utilizing great technique and the ability to bounce back after a tough loss to work his way back into a third place victory.
Christian wrestled with unparalleled tenacity, earning a respectable fourth place finish, embodying the resilience and perseverance instilled by the sport. His display of grit during every match should be an example to others.
Rene gave it his all and wrapped up the tournament with a solid fourth place finish, showcasing his untapped potential and determination that will allow hime to excel in the sport.
While the placements reflected their performance on paper, what truly shone was the exceptional growth and character development shown by these young athletes. They not only applied the skills taught in training but also displayed maturity and sportsmanship. In a conclusion to the year, these wrestlers made us all proud with their champion-like mentality, showing grace in victory and dignity in defeat. As they continue to push themselves in wrestling and in life, let us remember that the only limits they face are the ones they set for themselves.
We stand PROUD to have these incredible individuals represent Team Asylum, embodying the values of hard work, perseverance, and respect.
